Lufthansa Had No Plans to Buy Austrian Airlines
Both companies are already benefiting from their existing cooperation as members of the global airline group Star Alliance.

Deutsche Lufthansa AG said it has no plans to buy Austrian Airlines (AUA), rejecting market speculation it is to launch a bid for the carrier.
´There are no plans for Lufthansa to take a stake in AUA,´ said a spokesman for the German airline. He added both companies are already benefiting from their existing cooperation as members of the global airline group Star Alliance. A ustrian Airlines´ chief executive Alfred Oetsch said in February he ruled out a takeover of his firm by another carrier within the next five years, and vowed to ´keep AUA independent´.
