Authorities said 172 passengers had left the plane, although it wasn't clear if anyone was still on board the Boeing 737 at Prestwick Airport, which is around 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Glasgow.

British authorities diverted a passenger plane to Scotland on Wednesday after the cabin crew received a note saying there was a bomb on board, budget airline Ryanair said.

Authorities said 172 passengers had left the plane, although it wasn't clear if anyone was still on board the Boeing 737 at Prestwick Airport, which is around 30 miles (50 kilometers) from Glasgow.

Flight FR25 was traveling from Paris Beauvais to Dublin, when it was diverted to the Scottish airport and escorted by two Royal Air Force jets. It landed safely.

Police were still searching the plane and questioning passengers.

It was not immediately clear if any explosives had been found or if any arrests had been made.
