Swedish police said Tuesday they arrested four men, including members of a notorious motorcycle gang, suspected of involvement in a spectacular airport robbery last month.

The four suspects, who were not identified, were arrested in Goteborg on Sweden's west coast Tuesday morning, police spokeswoman Malin Sahlstrom said. A fifth suspect was arrested shortly after the March 7 robbery at Goteborg-Landvetter airport, and has been remanded in custody.

Masked gunmen crashed through a gate at the airport and held up luggage handlers as they were unloading crates of foreign currency from the plane. No one was injured.

The robbers left a suspicious package on the tarmac, prompting police to evacuate parts of the airport. The bomb however turned out to be a fake.

"Some of the arrested persons are linked to the Bandidos criminal network," Sahlstrom said.

The four men, aged 22-37, were to be interrogated during the day and after that the prosecutor will decide whether to ask a court to keep them in detention pending formal charges, Sahlstrom said.

The airport robbers sped off in two vehicles and spread nails on the road to block police from pursuing them. Police said that they got away with "a large sum" of money, but did not reveal how much.
