The TSA today named Lee R. Kair as Federal Security Director for the Orlando International Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today named Lee R. Kair as Federal Security Director (FSD) for the Orlando (Fla.) International Airport.

Kair will report for duty in Orlando in early August. He currently serves as the Executive Director of TSA's Office of Inter-Agency Operations at headquarters where he oversees several initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. Some of the most notable achievements of this office under Kair's management are: development and deployment of an enhanced Improvised Explosive Device training program for Transportation Security Officers (TSOs), deployment of security enhancement teams for all modes of transportation, and decentralizing the hiring process for TSOs.

"Lee Kair brings a wealth of experience to this position at the Orlando International Airport," said Mike Restovich, TSA's Assistant Administrator for Security Operations. "He has helped shape the agency in several key areas, both operationally and administratively. I am sure that the TSOs, staff and the entire Orlando airport community will benefit from this experience."

Prior to heading up the Office of Inter-Agency Operations, Kair served as the Assistant Administrator for Acquisition where he headed up the agency's $2.5 billion acquisitions program. Before joining TSA, Kair was the Director of Strategic Sourcing and Acquisition Systems at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Prior to joining DHS, he held various positions in several federal agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force, and the Department of Defense.

Kair holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in government contract management. He will replace Art Meinke, who will transfer to George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
