Air marshals on board the plane stopped the man from opening an emergency door as the plane approached the Fort Lauderdale airport.

A man who allegedly tried to force open an emergency door on an airplane was arrested when he arrived in Florida.

Ricky Herb was a passenger on a US Airways flight from Philadelphia to Fort Lauderdale, WFOR-TV reported. He was reportedly flying to Florida for medical treatment.

Air marshals on board the plane stopped the 45-year-old Herb from opening the door and said that other passengers were never at risk. The incident occurred as the plane approached the Fort Lauderdale airport, the report said.
