United Hiring Reserve Flight Attendants for Denver Hub

Aug. 7, 2006
Flight attendants hired would be on reserve, or on-call, status and could work about 85 flight hours a month.

United Airlines is hiring 70 flight attendants in Denver to staff more flights and fuller planes.

United said its pay for new flight attendants averages between $23,000 and $24,000 a year. It is accepting applications online only.

"Our flight attendants play a very important role in shaping our customers' travel experience," said United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski.

Flight attendants hired would be on reserve, or on-call, status and could work about 85 flight hours a month. The last time United hired flight attendants for its Denver hub was six years ago, Urbanski said.

United already has hired flight attendants this year in other cities.

Meanwhile, 65 employees in Colorado Springs will be affected by the discontinuation of United's large-jet service there effective Oct. 31.

United said those employees can look for positions within United, and regional carrier SkyWest is hosting job information sessions.
