Private Sector Has Hard Time Regaining Airport Screening Business
Airports were given the right to hire private security contractors forbaggage and personnel screening nearly two years ago.
Sioux Falls' Marnach says the biggest benefit has been in customer elations. Since switching over, passenger complaints about screeners have dropped to nil, he says. "It's too bad more airports won't take a stab at this," he says, "because I really like it."
