Continental to Fly Nonstop from Cleveland to Paris

The Paris flights will operate daily from May to September, with no service during the fall and winter.

Continental Airlines is planning to add nonstop flights from its Cleveland hub to Paris in 2008, allowing travelers easy access to cities in Europe, Asia and Africa, the carrier said.

The direct flights to Charles de Gaulle International Airport, where Continental partner Air France has a hub, will allow travelers access to flights to many other cities on the three continents, Continental officials said Friday.

It is the first time Continental added nonstop flights to Europe from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport since it began direct flights to London's Gatwick Airport in 1999.

Gatwick, the smaller of London's two international airports, does not offer nearly as many international connecting flights as Charles de Gaulle does.

Continental also flies from Cleveland to Cancun, Mexico; Montreal and Toronto in Canada; and Nassau, Bahamas. A direct flight to Paris is available on Air France from Detroit.

The Paris flights will operate daily from May to September, with no service during the fall and winter. Continental will add year-round flights if business travelers use them.
