Jan. 25, 2007
The federal government will decide in February how it will sell its 62% stake in Mexico's biggest airline.

Mexican government will sell the airline consortium Aeromexico before the end of 2007. The board will decide in February in what form the shares owned by federal government will be discarded, that account for 62% of the company. The remaining 38% is in private hands.

Aeromexico is Mexico's biggest airline. It serves more than 40 cities in Mexico --more than any other airline--, 15 gateway cities in the United States, and five countries in Europe and South America.

The company is a founding member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance, which provides customers with worldwide destinations, flights and services. The airline's corporate headquarters are in Mexico City and its US operations are based in Houston.
