Colorado Springs has landed a new airline that plans to bypass larger airports by offering nonstop service between smaller U.S. cities.
Startup ExpressJet, a unit of ExpressJet Holdings Inc., has chosen the Springs as one of its first 24 cities.
Airports in other cities where ExpressJet will fly - including Tulsa, Okla.; Ontario, Calif., and Raleigh-Durham, N.C. - also will hold news conferences Monday.
ExpressJet plans to fly 44 jets and will launch service in April and May, focusing on the West, Midwest and Southeast.
