Police in London have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the 2006 planned liquid explosive attack on U.S.-bound passenger jets, police said.

CNN reported that the man is the 25th person arrested in connection to the plot. Fourteen of those people remain behind bars.

Police said the man was arrested under the Terrorism Act of 2000. It wasn't clear what his alleged role in the airliner plot was, CNN reported.

Security sources told CNN that the alleged terrorists planned to use electrical charges to ignite liquid explosives over the Atlantic Ocean. The plot was foiled when an intelligence agent infiltrated the group.

Word of the plot brought a new set of airport guidelines, with strict limits placed on passengers' ability carry liquids, including breastmilk, coffee and deodorant, on flights.

CNN said authorities were searching the man's London home and a London business.
