American Airlines has reported that it will be starting a new non-stop service between New York's LaGuardia Airport and Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport on 5 September 2007.

Three daily round trip flights will operate on the route, with early morning, midday and early evening departures. A Boeing MD80 aircraft will be used, with 16 first-class seats and 120 seats in the main cabin.

Minneapolis/St. Paul will be the 26th destination served non-stop by American Airlines and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, from LaGuardia Airport.

The airline also reported that its services between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport will be increased and larger jets will be used for the service.

From 5 September 2007 this service will be operated twice daily using a 136-seater Boeing MD80 aircraft. However, American Eagle will be reducing its service to one flight a day. The net effect will be one additional flight and 222 additional seats each way, American Airlines said.
