Signature Flight Support has opened a new $13 million terminal for passengers and pilots using corporate and other noncommercial aircraft at Boston's Logan International Airport.
The two-story building, designed by Boston architecture firm Chan Krieger Sieniewicz, includes a crew lounge, a passenger lounge with a floor-to-ceiling glass pavilion and administrative offices.
A separate VIP center features private entrances for visiting dignitaries.
Orlando, Fla.-based Signature Flight Support is a ``fixed-based'' operator that provides passenger services, fueling, airport baggage handling and aircraft catering.
It has a 10-year lease to operate at Logan Airport until 2016.
Its new aviation facility is expected to gain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for its environmentally friendly building materials, environmentally sensitive design and construction, and energy efficiency.
