Airport is working for new direct flights to Buffalo

COLONIE - Albany International Airport is losing its nonstop flights to Buffalo this weekend, but airport officials say they expect to replace the Continental Connection service.
"We are working diligently to restore service from Albany to Buffalo," airport spokesman Doug Myers said Friday. "We are confident we will have a contract flyer operating under the banner of a major airline." But there still will be a lapse in service, he said.
Commutair, which operated the flights, is shifting its service to Continental's Cleveland hub.
