Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: FRNT) announced on Tuesday (7 August) that it will add new flights to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with non-stop service from both Sacramento and San Jose. The new Sacramento route will be operated by Republic Airlines using Embraer E-170 aircraft four days a week starting from 15 December. Three times weekly San Jose flights will also begin 15 December, with two E-170 flights operated by Republic and a third Saturday flight aboard Frontier's new fleet of Airbus A319s. "Many travellers on our flights to Mexico have flown to Denver until recently to catch their flights and now we are making our service even more convenient by adding several direct non-stop flights from gateway cities already in the Frontier route network," said John Happ, Frontier's senior vice president of marketing and planning.
