Air Canada to increase services on key Western Canada routes

Air Canada has announced that starting this winter it will be increasing frequencies on routes in Western Canada.

The airline said that it is now offering daily, non-stop flights from Edmonton to London Heathrow and daily, non-stop flights from Calgary to Halifax.

In addition the carrier will also introduce new, non-stop seasonal services from Vancouver to Ixtapa and Los Cabos in Mexico.

Air Canada had previously announced new routes beginning this winter including daily, non-stop flights from Vancouver to Sydney, Australia and daily, non-stop flights from Vancouver to Yellowknife.

The new seasonal Vancouver to Los Cabos and Ixtapa flights will be offered weekly starting 21 and 22 December, respectively, using Airbus A319 aircraft.

From Edmonton Air Canada will increase service to London's Heathrow from three times weekly, as well as increasing flights from Edmonton to: Ottawa, Winnipeg, Fort McMurray and Vancouver. In addition from Calgary Air Canada will continue offering daily non-stop flights to Halifax and Prince George, which were launched earlier this year, and the twice daily non-stop flights to Seattle will also continue this winter. Additional frequencies from Calgary to Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg, are also to be introduced by the carrier this winter.
