Clear, a provider of a fast pass for airport security in the US, has announced that 1,000 fliers signed up at its http://www.flyclear.com website in 30 hours following the official enrolment opening at San Francisco International Airport.
The company operates five enrolment stations in the Bay Area, including two at San Francisco Airport, two at San Jose Airport and one at the Hyatt Embarcadero. It said enrolments at all of its locations increased last week following the launch in San Francisco and confirmed it has now enrolled more than 59,000 travellers across the US.
Clear's Verified Identity Pass service gives members a biometric identity card which enables them to speed access through airport security checkpoints for a USD99.95 annual fee, following pre-screening and approval by the Transportation Security Administration.
In addition, Clear said it is working to introduce more kiosks onsite to companies and is planning to launch programmes at Washington, DC (Reagan and Dulles), Denver and Atlanta, this autumn.
