Inaugurate New York-Mumbai service to be launched by Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has announced that it is to launch its inaugural nonstop service between its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Mumbai, India, on Monday (1 October).
The carrier said that the new service is to initially be operated four times a week, leaving from Liberty on Sundays, Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays. Effective 28 October 2007, frequency on the route is to be increased to a daily service.
Continental will be operating the route using Boeing 777-200 aircraft, carrying 50 passengers in the BusinessFirst cabin and 235 in economy.
