ExpressJet Airlines announced on 8 October that it has commenced ticket sales from Santa Barbara Airport for a non-stop service to Sacramento (SMF) and San Diego (SAN).
The airline said it expects to begin flying from Santa Barbara on 11 November 2007, in time for the winter holiday travel season, and plans to invest over USD300,000 in airport facilities and equipment at SBA.
ExpressJet Airlines said Santa Barbara provides the right-sized market for its fleet of 50-seat Embraer 145 aircraft. It claimed the service will save its Santa Barbara customers time and make their travel more convenient.
According to the airline, its aircraft are fuel efficient and quiet and configured with no middle seats, ensuring each passenger is given an aisle or window seat, or both.
The addition of service to Santa Barbara, Long Beach and Reno-Tahoe will take the total number of US markets offering ExpressJet non-stop flights to 26.
