Today (1 November) Spirit Airlines starts daily direct service between Fort Lauderdale and Ponce, Puerto Rico.
The new service will be operated to Mercedita Airport, located five kilometres from Ponce's business district. Ponce is Spirit's third destination in Puerto Rico, the airline currently serves San Juan and Aguadilla.
