MOORESTOWN, NJ -- Formation, Inc., designer and manufacturer of hardware and software products for the aviation, defense, and transportation industries, recently earned AS 9100B certification, a quality system standard for suppliers to the aerospace industry. Formation earned the certification after passing an audit performed by KEMA Registered Quality, Inc.

AS 9100B specifies requirements set by the International Aerospace Quality Group for outstanding product quality, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service. The standard embodies the complete text of ISO 9001:2000 plus approximately 80 additional requirements and 18 amplifications of these standards. KEMA found Formation's quality program to be in complete compliance.

"Formation has been ISO 9001 certified for the past 12 years. The AS 9100B certification clearly demonstrates Formation's commitment to quality and service," says R. Nim Evatt, president of Formation, Inc. "Our ability to deliver on those commitments is evidenced by our long-standing relationships with many of the aerospace industries' top manufacturers."

"All of our customers will benefit from compliance with this standard," says John Pierce, Formation's vice-president of quality assurance. "We apply the same high-quality standards to all of our customers, not just those representing the aerospace industries. Earning this certification validates our overall approach."

The AS 9100 standard was developed through a global effort by aerospace industry representatives in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
