Cherokee County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jay Baker said 46-year-old Alan Ray Jordan of Orlando, Fla., called 911 about 1 p.m. Wednesday to say he had just crashed into Lake Arrowhead in Canton, Ga. Baker said a fisherman used his boat to rescue Jordan from the sinking Diamond DA40.

Baker said Jordan emerged with "not a single scratch on him" and only wet feet. Jordan was flying from Calhoun, Ga., to Lawrenceville, Ga.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said Jordan reported a loss of engine power just before he crashed into the lake. The crash is under investigation.
