"Delta has made tremendous progress integrating our two airlines during the last six months, including common uniforms and employee badges, common branding of our airports and aircraft, integrated airport facilities, and resolving seniority integration and aligning work rules for a number of workgroups. We expect to mark a number of significant milestones in 2009. This includes cross training our employees on new aircraft types and further integrating our technology systems. We remain on track to achieve our Single Operating Certificate by year end.

"It is equally important to our employees to quickly resolve representation for those workgroups in which representation remains unresolved. To that end, we urge the Senate to confirm Linda Puchala as soon as possible.

"Ms. Puchala has years of valuable experience, including time with the NMB. She enjoys broad support among the airline industry and labor community. We look forward to her confirmation to become a member of the NMB."
