BRIEF: Ozark air show set for Saturday

Oct. 16, 2009

--

Oct. 16--The City of Ozark is planning at least the fourth Blackwell Airport Air Show featuring a Curtis Pitts fly-in for Saturday, according to officials.

Airport Manager Frank Mayer said he expects about 3,000 people from across the country to come and see the show.

About 20 aircraft, some as local as Dale County and some from as far away as from New Jersey, are expected to fly in, he said.

"We had the first event in 2002, but we skipped last year because of some construction at the airport," he said.

"This year we plan to have some vendors and some other planes, as well as skydivers."
