Air Transport Association Statement on ATW Recognition of CAAFI Accomplishments

WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today issued the following statement regarding Air Transport World (ATW) magazine's presentation of its Joseph S. Murphy Industry Service Award for 2010 to the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI):

"ATA is extremely pleased that ATW has recognized how much CAAFI has accomplished in such a short time span to foster alternative aviation fuel development. ATA is a founding and principal member of CAAFI, a consortium of government agencies, airlines, manufacturers, airports and current and prospective fuel suppliers that are coordinating work on the research and development of alternative jet fuels, including technical specifications, environmental aspects, production and distribution.
