AirTran Airways Officially Opens Milwaukee Crew Bases

Key to expansion at Mitchell International

MILWAUKEE, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today officially opened its pilot and flight attendant bases in Milwaukee. The opening of the bases, which include more than 50 Boeing 737 pilots and 50 flight attendants, allows AirTran Airways to continue to expand its operations at General Mitchell International Airport, a key strategic location in the Midwest for the airline.

AirTran Airways has steadily expanded its operations at General Mitchell International Airport since first coming to the city in 2002. In addition to the pilot and flight attendant bases opening today, the airline also operates a line maintenance station at the airport.

In addition to its growing flight operations, AirTran Airways has also been extremely active in the community, supporting dozens of charities, including: the Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee Circus Parade, YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee and the Wisconsin State Fair.
