Feds Raid Job Site At Nomad Aviation, at Orlando-Sanford Airport

SANFORD, Fla. --

The U.S. attorney's office said a sealed warrant has been served at the Nomad Aviation job site in Sanford.

WESH 2's Gail Paschall-Brown was at the Orlando-Sanford International Airport and said officials remain tight-lipped about a federal raid taking place at a job site at the airport.

Chopper 2 flew over the the area when federal agents from the Defense Criminal Investigative Service walked out with evidence.

The DCIS investigates terrorism, companies ho use defective parts and prevents the illegal transfer of sensitive defense technologies. It is not known why the agency is investigating Nomad Aviation.

Agents from the Naval Investigative Service are also involved in the investigation. No arrests have been made.

Nomad Aviation is a private aeronautical engineering company that has operated at the Sanford airport since 2005.

The company reportedly has contracts with the Navy to modify planes and upgrade avionics.

According to its website, Nomad Aviation installs aircraft avionics as well as cockpit upgrades.

A call to the company's president was not immediately returned.
