DES MOINES, Iowa --

Delta Air Lines plans to drop it's non-stop flight from Des Moines to New York, airport officials said Wednesday.

Airport spokesman Roy Criss said that Delta will end the flight on Sept. 7.

Criss said it's being pulled because it was averaging a 25 percent passenger load.

Delta completed its merger with Northwest Airlines in 2008 and is considered the largest airline in the U.S.
