CLEVELAND, June 10, 2010 – From a freshly poured pint of lager to the classic fish and chips, British-style pub fare is now on the menu for travelers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). BAA Cleveland, developer of the AIRMALL® at CLE, is pleased to announce the recent opening of The Pub, an Ohio-based restaurant chain offering an upscale, classic pub experience similar to those across the pond.

“The Pub adds to a line-up of unique restaurants that offer a full array of options for busy travelers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport – from a relaxing sit-down dinner to a tasty sandwich or salad on the go,” said Tina LaForte, vice president of BAA Cleveland. “Whether they choose a well-known national concept or a local favorite like The Pub, passengers at the AIRMALL® at CLE can dine knowing they are paying ‘Regular Mall Prices…Guaranteed.’ It’s an AIRMALL® promise.”

The Pub (3,800 sq. ft) will feature traditional fare such as bangers and mash and fish and chips, along with a host of British-inspired appetizers, sandwiches, toasted paninis, salads and desserts. Passengers at CLE can grab a pint at The Pub in the main terminal by Concourse B security.

“The Pub offers a menu and atmosphere that our passengers in Cleveland have not previously been offered,” added Airport Director Ricky Smith. “With each new brand, the variety of our dining mix at the AIRMALL® at CLE continues to provide a better travel experience for our passengers.”

Now in its second year of development, the new AIRMALL® at CLE will occupy 76,000 square feet of retail space when it is completed later this year. The enhanced concessions program is also expected to double the current participation rate of local and minority-owned companies, dramatically increase the number of concession jobs, and double retail sales figures during the next decade.
