July 28--Cessna Aircraft introduced a mobile data application for the Apple iPad that will allow pilots to do their flight planning and receive weather data.

The system, called iFlite, is available for all Cessna single-engine aircraft, the company said.

Pilots will be able to access information about weather systems, plan routes and check landing status.

They will also be able to file flight plans and access Cessna checklists.

Cessna plans an application for the iPhone soon and is developing similar iFlite applications for its Citation business jets.

Cessna is demonstrating the application at the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture conference this week at Oshkosh, Wis.
