Signature Flight Support adds Fresno Yosemite International Airport to its network

Sept. 30, 2010

Signature Flight Support Corporation announced today that it entered into an agreement with McDonald Aviation, LLC to manage its facility at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (KFAT).

McDonald Aviation, LLC acquired the nearly new facility earlier this year and has completed an extensive refurbishment of the entire property which has been used solely for their aircraft until now. David McDonald, owner of McDonald Aviation, LLC and former CEO of PELCO stated “I realized that an FBO of Signature’s superior quality at Fresno would be of benefit to the general aviation community and that our exceptional facility could fit that niche. Signature’s reputation of providing world-class service and being a truly customer-centric company made it a very easy decision for me to choose them to manage the FBO. I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them.”

Signature Flight Support Corporation’s President, S. Michael Scheeringa agrees. “Mr. McDonald’s facility is a modern, first-class well-maintained campus and is a welcome addition to our global network. We are always looking for ways to expand Signature’s offerings to our customers and Fresno is a great opportunity for us to do so.”

The facility will be fully branded and operated as Signature and will offer its customers all the benefits of Signature’s portfolio of services including Signature Status® and access to its global network of FBOs.

The executive terminal is 6,100 sq. ft. and features a passenger lounge, crew lounge, two sleep rooms, executive conference room and Signature’s standard refreshment area including fresh popcorn, Starbucks® coffee and Otis Spunkmeyer® cookies. All lounges include high definition televisions and video libraries. There is also a computer area where crews can check the weather, file flight plans and access the Internet.

The ultra-modern 40,800 sq. ft. hangar is the sole hangar space in this region of California capable of accommodating Global Express or Gulfstream size aircraft. Complete with a foam fire suppression system, the hangar is available for new tenants; and several offices in the executive terminal are available for lease. The hangar also includes a large ramp-side covered patio where customers are able to relax and view the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Signature’s flight support services include ground handling, complimentary cabin cleaning, water and lavatory service, fueling (Jet-A and 100LL), crew hotel booking, crew cars and catering coordination. McDonald Aviation, LLC was formed in 2007 by former PELCO CEO David L. McDonald. The company owns a Gulfstream 550 which is available for charter through Executive Jet Management based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2010, the company acquired the FBO property (formerly Scott Aircraft) at Fresno Yosemite International Airport for the purpose of housing its Gulfstream.
