US Airways Raises Fee For Heavy Checked Bags

The next time you fly, you might want to double check the weight of your bags before you leave home.

US Airways is raising the fee to check heavy luggage on its domestic flights.

A bag over 50 pounds will now cost an extra $90 to check. The old fee was $50.

That's on top of the $25 fee to check a first bag and the $35 fee for a second bag.

The new rates began with tickets purchased after Feb. 1.
