GTSI Awarded $425 Million SAVES Contract From FAA

HERNDON, Va., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GTSI, a leading provider of technology to federal, state, and local governments, announced today that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded the company a contract to provide information technology under the Strategic Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies (SAVES) program.  The fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract is worth up to $425 million if all options are exercised.  The period of performance consists of one base year and four one-year options.

The SAVES program is a vital element in the FAA's strategy to improve financial management while delivering quality customer service. Under the contract, GTSI will help FAA staff comply with the SAVES program's mandates for cost effectiveness by delivering mission-critical technology in an efficient and expeditious manner.

The FAA is responsible for the regulation of air traffic and navigation for civilian and military aircraft as well as ensuring the operational safety of civilian aviation and the regulation of commercial space transportation.
