Avocet Announces Grand Opening of its New Hangar at the Orlando-Sanford International Airport

June 23, 2011

Avocet Aviation Services, LLC today announced the grand opening of a new 55,510 square foot hangar at the Orlando-Sanford International Airport. The grand opening will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21 at 2551 Hellcat lane, Building 547 with a feature performance by Grammy Award winner and Jazz Musician Kenneth Whalum III.

“The opening of this new hangar will allow us to continue to deliver excellence to our customers as well as the ability to provide aviation solutions that exceed industry standards,” said Patrick Arellano Sr., chief operating officer.

The comprehensive new maintenance facility will be a full-service, commercial aircraft maintenance operation at the airport, capable of housing aircraft as large as the Boeing 767-300. This one-stop-shop has a solid history in tear-down and heavy maintenance of aircraft, which includes airframe standard block inspections on B737, DC10, MD80, and MD11 aircraft and drop-in maintenance.

Last year Avocet became an accredited member of the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA). The association promotes environmental best practice and sustainable developments in aircraft disassembly, as well as the salvaging and recycling of aircraft parts and materials.
