U.S. Senator Mike Enzi Attends

CASPER, Wyo., Aug. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Businesses across Wyoming are participating in GE's Small Business Supplier Symposium today in Casper. Wyoming's senior U.S. Senator Mike Enzi joined representatives from GE Aviation and GE Energy in Casper to support the event, which GE hopes will build relationships with Wyoming's aerospace and energy suppliers, creating business opportunities within the state.

The symposium provides a chance for local small businesses interested in working with GE Aviation and GE Energy to receive coaching and mentoring through panel discussions and one-on-one sessions.  Following the event, GE will move forward to the next phase of relationship development with companies that best match its needs and quality requirements.

GE Aviation Supplier Development Manager Tony Maricocchi briefed participating businesses at the symposium on the important relationships GE has with its suppliers and the ways such relationships can benefit Wyoming businesses.

"All of us at GE Aviation are excited at the prospect of enhancing our supplier base in Wyoming, and this event will be an important step toward that goal," Maricocchi said. "We've seen the success that GE Energy and GE Healthcare have had in the state, and we look forward to doing business with Wyomans for decades to come."

Sen. Enzi delivered the opening remarks today at the Ramkota Best Western Hotel in Casper. In addition to Sen. Enzi, the Wyoming Business Council, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Wyoming's Wyoming Entrepreneur Small Business Development Center and Manufacturing Works, the Wyoming Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), worked to delivery this opportunity to the state's business community.
