SSP America Premieres Its Newest Brand, PizzaVino, at DFW

SSP serves up pizza and wine to the passengers of Dallas/Fort Worth's Terminal D

LANSDOWNE, Va., Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SSP America, the North American division of SSP, the leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, celebrated the opening of PizzaVino, its 2,328 square foot pizza and wine concept at Dallas/Fort Worth International's Terminal D.

Pizza and wine, the pairing are made for one another, and PizzaVino, the latest gem in SSP's string of innovative and original brand options, delivers that natural affinity in a stylish, new form serving authentic, thin crust, Neapolitan-style pizzas made with market-fresh ingredients and combined with hand-picked, premium wine selections.

Housed in a stunning, modern venue with soothing hues of dark wood accented by sleek stainless lines framing the facade, PizzaVino carries the traveler away from the hustle and bustle of airport business and into a hip, neighborhood pizzeria.  Warm wood tables and chairs and low pendant lighting invite diners to sit back, relax and enjoy a great pizza and perfect glass of wine.

The menu is simple but modern, featuring chef-inspired interpretations of time-honored combinations - wild mushroom and goat cheese, drizzled with truffle oil; pepperoni, sausage and caramelized onion; or, premium prosciutto and spinach.  The dough is freshly prepared, kneaded and tossed in-house daily, the sauce simmers throughout the day.

Alternate choices include Caprese salad made with fresh mozzarella, vine-ripe tomatoes and fresh basil; the "Panzanella" made with rustic bread, grilled vegetables and house-cured tomatoes; or a warm toasted Panini filled with ham, apple, mozzarella and a touch of fig jam.  Early travelers can start their day with the whimsical "Sunnyside Pizza" combining thick-cut bacon, house-cured tomatoes and a cracked egg glistening on top of an oven-crisp pizza crust.

Les Cappetta, President and CEO of SSP America, commented, "One of SSP's unique strengths, is that we have talented chefs and food experts in every part of the country and every part of the globe.  We can introduce the latest food craze from one region to test in another.  Or, we can work with our fine chefs to create something new and completely original.  But sometimes, you just can't beat classics – like handmade pizza and vintage wine.  And that's what we've done with PizzaVino – we've paired two universal favorites, something passengers know and love, and presented them in a relaxed, neighborhood pizzeria – right at the airport.  We're proud to be working in partnership with DFW and to be introducing one of our newest creations to the travelers of Dallas/Fort Worth."

PizzaVino is located in DFW's Terminal D, just above the SSP-run Tigin Irish Pub and Restaurant.
