Two Receive FAA 50-year Awards in Valparaiso
VALPARAISO | Two longtime residents received lifetime awards from the FAA on Wednesday night and a packed house turned out at the Porter County Regional Airport to congratulate them on their honors.
Dr. Tom Cavanaugh, an orthodontist, was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award and Larry Bub received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award, both for 50 years of service.
Cavanaugh said he started flying in 1961 as a hobby while in school to be an orthodontist.
