Flightstar Announces Upcoming Completion of CPDLC, ATN-B1, and FANS 1/A+ STC for Bombardier Learjet 40 and 45 Series

The STC allows operators to conduct Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) with options for Aeronautical Telecommunications Network Baseline 1 (ATN-B1) and Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ capabilities.

Champaign, IL (KCMI) – October 10, 2017 – Flightstar Corporation announces the upcoming completion of their latest Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Bombardier Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 series of aircraft. Their STC allows operators to conduct Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) with options for Aeronautical Telecommunications Network Baseline 1 (ATN-B1) and Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ capabilities.  

The STC utilizes the aircraft’s existing UNS-1Ew SBAS-FMS and incorporates a Universal Avionics UniLink® UL-801 Communications Management Unit (CMU) and CVR-120 Cockpit Voice Recorder.  Operators have the flexibility to include FANS A/1+ capabilities with the addition of a TrueNorth Iridium Data Link Unit and antenna. Expected completion of this STC is scheduled for end-of-year, 2017.
