The company will provide 73 central system air handling units.

In late October, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced the award of its largest Voluntary Airport Low Emission (VALE) grant of $18 million to the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, to improve air quality.

This grant will be used to fund the installation of a new centralized preconditioned air plant that will allow aircraft arriving at the terminal gates to shut off their auxiliary power units (APUs) and connect to the pre-conditioned air being provided by the 73 new INET central system air handling units (AHUs). The INET equipment will supply either heated or cooled air, depending on the ambient weather conditions, to the parked aircraft.

INET will be responsible for manufacturing and supply of the new equipment plus will additionally supervise the installation, start-up and commissioning.

This sustainable project will provide environmental benefits to the airlines by reducing their fuel consumption and will additionally benefit the airport via a reduction in ramp produced emissions and noise.
