Swissport announces management changes

Philipp Joeinig will take up the role as EVP Central Europe; Erich Bodenmann becomes EVP Group Services; and Adrian Melliger will become CEO of Swissport Zurich.

Zurich, April 28, 2011 – Swissport International has announced three top-management changes with effect from 2nd May, 2011. Philipp Joeinig will take up the role as EVP Central Europe, the newly established region Switzerland, Germany, & Austria. Erich Bodenmann becomes EVP Group Services, and Adrian Melliger will become CEO of Swissport Zurich, the hub of Swiss International Air Lines. The new EVP Business Development will be announced shortly.

To foster and focus on profitable growth and further enhancement of the Swissport formula, we are pleased to announce the following organizational changes:

Philipp Joeinig, currently Executive Vice President Group Services: Business Development, Operations, Corporate IT, Aviation Security Development, and Procurement, will become responsible for the newly established region Central Europe (Switzerland, Germany, and Austria).

Erich Bodenmann, currently Executive Vice President of Strategic Projects will become responsible for Swissport Group Services: Operations, Corporate IT, Aviation Security Development, and Procurement in addition to ongoing corporate expansion projects.

Alvaro Gomez-Reino, Executive Vice President Finance and Group CFO will on an interim basis head up Business Development until a new EVP Business Development has been appointed.

Adrian Melliger, currently Senior Vice President Switzerland & Germany, in which capacity he recently oversaw the major expansion of Swissport’s activities to Lufthansa’s Munich Hub, will take over full responsibility as CEO for Zurich Airport and serving home carrier Swiss International Air Lines, in addition he will play a vital role in the Swissport expansion strategy on international development within the new Central Europe Region.

All changes will be effective as of May 2, 2011.
