Sun Air Jets is excited to announce that both of their southern California locations have been re-certified as Green Aviation Businesses with Tier 1 status by the National Air Transportation Association (NATA). These locations include the FBO, hangar, management and maintenance facilities located at the Camarillo Airport, (KCMA), and the hangar, management and maintenance facilities located at Van Nuys Airport, (KVNY).

The NATA Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses is a sustainability initiative, created to provide FBOs, airports, and other aviation businesses a self-certification process for pursuing flexible, cost-effective options to lower their carbon footprint. Developed by a working group under NATA’s Environment Committee, the NATA Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses is a free industry standard designed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (including CO2), increase use of more environmentally friendly energy sources, reduce waste, and encourage sustainability operation-wide.

“NATA joins Sun Air Jets in celebrating the recent renewal of its annual self-certification of the NATA Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses at its Van Nuys, CA (KVNY) and Camarillo, CA (KCMA) locations. We applaud their leadership in the early adoption of the standard and continued commitment to its pillars in pursuing their environmental goals,” stated NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna.

“Sun Air Jets is grateful to the NATA for developing such a practical and beneficial tool to aid businesses that are beginning their steps into a more sustainable-minded culture. This project has inspired our team to be more mindful of our daily practices and the impact that they can have on the environment”, stated Mary Brehm, Director of Business Development and a member of NATA’s Environment Committee.
