Leading global aerospace and defence supply chain solutions provider, Pattonair, has awarded Gold Standard status to four of its suppliers.  Pattonair launched its industry leading Gold Standard programme that supports the company’s drive towards Zero Defects and Perfect Customer Performance 18 months ago.

The four suppliers, Apel Ltd, Lisi Aerospace Canada, Lisi Aerospace Izmir and RBC Transport Dynamics, achieved the benchmark standard in the programme’s ten requirements, which include sustained 100% On Time Delivery; sustained 0 ppm / Zero Quality Escapes and Zero concessions.

Earlier this year Pattonair enhanced the programme, requiring suppliers to demonstrate compliance with the newly issued SAE standards for aerospace, designed to reduce risk within the manufacturing and support processes. These standards require the application of tools including PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) supporting AS13004, and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) supporting AS13003.  Additionally, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) and load capacity planning were added as requirements to reach Gold Standard.

“The level of performance expected by Pattonair and our customers can only be sustained with the rigorous application of these tools, hence they are critical to any company’s journey towards Zero Defects and Perfect Customer Performance,” said Chris Coombs, Strategic Procurement & Bids Director, Pattonair.

Pattonair is assisting its suppliers to achieveperfect performance through the Gold Standard programme by supporting the implementation of the AS13003/4 standards and providing Zero Defect Leadership training and ongoing workshops.

“We congratulate our first four Gold Standard suppliers’ great achievement over the last 18 months.  We are seeing other suppliers ramping up their performance and look forward to celebrating more successful Gold Standard Awards at our Supplier Conference next November”, concluded Chris Coombs.
