Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia Shows Support for AsBAA and the Development of Business Aviation

Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia indicated its backing of business aviation in Malaysia and ASEAN and emphasised its support of ASBAA as the appropriate industry organisation for all Malaysian business aviation stakeholders.

AsBAA, the Asian region’s non-for-profit representative trade body for business aviation hosted a regional chapter meeting with ASBAA Governors, Tan Sri Ravindran Menon and Emil Pope at the SkyPark FBO at the Subang airport in Malaysia. AsBAA also welcomed special guest, Dato' Sri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, Director General of Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA) to the meeting.

At the Malaysia Chapter, AsBAA community meeting, the DCA indicated its backing of business aviation in Malaysia and ASEAN and emphasised its support of ASBAA as the appropriate industry organisation for all Malaysian business aviation stakeholders. The DCA also underlined the importance of leveraging ASBAA in order to improve safety and airworthiness standards in the industry in Malaysia, in the context of following all applicable Malaysian laws and regulations.
 
Over 30 participants and industry stakeholders attended the meeting including operators, handlers, MROs, Aircraft Managers and others. The meeting followed informal networking with refreshments, courtesy of Tan Sri Ravi and SkyPark in the very comfortable setting of the FBO. In summary, a very worthwhile meeting validating support of our industry in Malaysia.
