As a U.S. manufacturing of M-G sets and related control systems, we are a dedicated and active supplier for all branches of the U.S. armed forces as well as commercial applications. Kato 400Hz M-G set systems are located in all the assembly facilities of the US's largest commercial aircraft manufacturer, major airports and military installations in the US and around the world.
The 60-400Hz and 50-400Hz product line of M-G sets range from 20kW up to multiple 400kW M-G sets operating in parallel. Paralleling is fully automatic with manual operation as a backup. A pole alignment detector automatically aligns the rotor poles to shift the unit's electrical phase angle, permitting the system to parallel and share loads equally with the other M-G sets on the system. This unmanned control system allows for manual operation to alternate the units between master and slave operation to equalize lead machine selection and unit running times between units in sequence. This proven control logic provides a means of bypassing any motor-generator set in which a fault may occur or for routine maintenance without having to completely shut down the 400Hz power source.
With an insulation systems that is 100% vacuum pressure impregnated, Kato Engineering M-G sets withstand some of the harshest enviornmental conditions.
On record, the oldest to date M-G set replaced by a customer was over 43 years old. Kato M-G sets are a dependable 400Hz power source investment you can truely rely on. Our robust designs are mounted on a common riged steel base with the rotor assembly statically and dynamically balanced so as not to exceed a 0.001" double amplitute indicator reading.
