LED Airfield Lighting

ADB Airfield Solutions (ADB) has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide LED airfield lighting to U.S. Air Force installations in the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii. The five-year contract is to provide in-pavement and elevated taxiway LED fixtures to up to 46 bases as part of the USAF’s requirement to convert airfield taxiway lighting to ETL-Certified LED fixtures. ADB has already shipped 1,999 LED fixtures as part of this contract.

Advanced Power Supply System Designed Specifically for LED Fixtures

ADB’s Advanced Power Supply (APS), available in 1kW or 2kW units, is a new generation of power equipment designed specifically for LED airfield lighting fixtures. The APS unit unlocks the potential of solar-powered airfield lighting circuits, leverages existing series circuit infrastructure, and maximizes power supply efficiency while reducing maintenance costs. The first solar-powered circuit using ADB’s 1kW APS system has a projected savings of 90 percent compared to the airfield’s previous spending.

Runway LED Fixtures

The new L-850A and L-850B runway LED fixtures. The products virtually eliminate runway shutdowns due to long-lasting LED light sources, according to the company. They are a direct replacement for existing RCL and TDZ fixtures and operate on ferroresonant, or thyristor-type CCRs.

First ETL-Certified Medium-Intensity LED Elevated Edge Light

ADB Airfield Solutions has introduced the first ETL-Certified medium-intensity L-861 and L-861E LED runway edge light. The long-lasting LED fixture, which operates for more than 150,000 hours under actual operating conditions, is designed to virtually eliminate runway shutdowns and re-lamping expenses, significantly reducing ongoing maintenance costs. The L-861 and L-861E LED fixtures’ very low power rating and reduced spare parts contribute to a lower lifecycle costs.
