They are kicking off a five-year extension of their exclusive higher education partnership in developing educational and STEM programs to inspire the next generation of pilots, aircraft technicians, aerospace engineers and dreamers.
Meant primarily for high school and middle school students but open to all ages, Aviation 101 (available for signup at aviation101.org) is composed of 12 high-definition video lessons that will give students an introduction to the industry.
With the completion of an FAA-approved aviation degree program from Embry-Riddle, graduates are also eligible to receive the newly created Restricted ATP certification after 1,000 or 1,250 flight training hours.
Embry-Riddle Worldwide also offers a minor in unmanned aerial systems as part of a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and a specialization in unmanned aerospace systems in the Master of Aeronautical Science.
Artifacts and memorabilia in the exhibit will illustrate historical achievements of the stars of the sky and Hoover's world-renowned career as a test pilot, air show innovator, mentor, World War II combat aviator and Prisoner of War.
Topics to be discussed include: introduction and impact of UAS; UAS designs; legislation, certification and regulation; industry concerns; applications; operational profiles; business opportunities; and the future of UAS.
