ääääCombibox System Scandinavian AB is the pioneer of putting ground support services for commercial airliners in underground pits at terminal gates of airports, or in maintenance hangars. Combibox is a Scandinavian company that has installed such systems around the world during more than a quarter of a century. Its systems can now be found at the largest airports in its home region Scandinavia: at Arlanda in Stockholm, Kastrup in Copenhagen and Gardermoen in Oslo. Later, the system has spread to various European airports, and to Middle East and Asia. The systems are also used worldwide by airlines in their light- and heavy-maintenance hangars. When an aircraft arrives at the gate, it needs 400 HZ electricity, preconditioned air (PCA), fuel, potable water and evacuation of waste. The media can be supplied by mobile units or — regarding some media — by below the bridge systems. The CombiBox systems performs these operations by means of steel pits in the apron beside the aircraft. The pits contain cables or hoses which can be easily connected to the aircraft. The boxes are the most important part of a system which — besides the pits — consists of certain service units which sometimes are connected to general systems at the airport.
