New ground support equipment offers cutting edge technology, fuel savings and many other benefits. But new GSE also comes with a price tag. The result is fleets of GSE that vary in age all across the world.

According to a recent purchasing study conducted by Ground Support Worldwide, more than 46 percent of those surveyed said the average age of equipment in their GSE fleet was 10-19 years.

Another 31 percent of those surveyed said the average age of their GSE was 5-9 years while approximately 13 percent reported an average age of 0-4 years.

There is still older equipment out in the field though. In fact, 5 percent of those surveyed have a fleet of GSE with an average age of 20-29 years and nearly 3 percent of those who took the survey reported an average age of 30+ years.
