Aircraft Maintenance Technology Turns 25 This Year

Jan. 23, 2014
Then and Now

This year AMT celebrates its 25th anniversary, consistently providing articles directed toward aircraft maintenance in all segments of the industry. Many of the same authors and companies from that first issue are still with us today. And many of the same topics are still relevant today. But we must recognize how much the industry has changed and how much our readership has changed.

Advancements in technology have played a huge role over the past decades. One of the many examples is the use of advanced composite materials in aircraft construction. Today, many new aircraft have entire fuselages small and large built using composite materials. The Jan/Feb issue of AMT will be out soon and you can read about some of the challenges maintainers face today along with a review of the use of composites in aerospace over the past couple decades.

Celebrate with us! If you have an interesting 25 year topic please let us know.
