It’s difficult to sum up in a short blog all of what we saw at last week’s inter airport Europe. For the record, the19th International Exhibition for Airport Equipment, Technology, Design & Services drew 11,900 attendees from 110 countries to view a total of 640 exhibitors from 37 countries inside and outside a record exhibit space of 28,300 square meters.
Some highlights for the interRAMP portion of the show:
- Cavotec highlighted its E3 concept designed to improve operational efficiency at the gate and apron by providing 400Hz power, PCAir, blue and potable water, sewage and air atart – and now fuel – via underground pits.
- A self propelled disabled passenger vehicle from Denge won this year’s most innovative product for the interRAMP category.
- The eSchlepper, a new electrically powered tow truck capable of moving aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to 600 tonnes will be developed by the end of 2014 by a joint venture between Lufthansa LEOS and Kalmar Motor AB.
- Spijkstaal showcased a three-wheel concept model of an electric tow tractor.
That might just cover the first morning of our three-day visit. Maybe the best thing to do is stretch some of this out over the a few future blogs.
